Senior Tax Accountant

Wealth Enhancement Group is an independent financial planning and advisory firm based in Minneapolis, MN. Our professional financial advisory staff provides in-depth strategies to help enhance the wealth of our clients. Our Darien, CT office is looking to hire a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team.
The Sr. Tax Accountant will support and deliver the timely and accurate processing of tax returns of primarily high-net-worth clients enlisting these services.
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare tax returns and related work papers; individual, Partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp, Trusts, Estates, Foundations, Payroll, Sales Tax and Foreign Reporting
Maintain fluency in all aspects of tax compliance
Conduct Tax Research and Planning, including but not limited to CCH Intelliconnect, BNA projections, Special Research projects, Retirement Accounts recommendations and set up
Respond to work with State and Federal Auditors
Research and answer tax related questions and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the offices Partners and Planners
Amend Tax Returns
Review and respond to Tax Notices
Education - Certification Requirements
BS in accounting or relevant
5 to 7 years in public accounting experience - tax
CPA or EA required

Superlative verbal and written communications skills
Superior interpersonal skills - client and team interactions
Strong project management skills with experience working on projects from conception through implementation
Proven track record of superior time-management skills
Strong analytics and problem solving skills
Experience in decision making and the ability to influence others to support decisions
Experience in a multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
Technical Skill Requirements
Proficiency in Excel, Work, ProSystems Access Tax, ProSystems Access Scan and all ProSystems products, preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
