JOB DESCRIPTION The Business Development Manager will work closely with all departments including Marketing, National Account Managers, Sales Management and Sales Finance in developing and streamlining S&OP process and Communication strategies/tactics that deliver on Norseland's Distribution, Shelving, Pricing, and Promotion goals; along with ensuring that Norseland's annual sales and profit goals are achieved.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for the evaluation and assessment of trade spending at a marketing channel, sales team, or account level.
RESPONSIBILITIES Assists and supports the in the implementation and assessment of the Trade Marketing expenditures.
Develops trade strategy by channel supporting marketing's brand plans and utilizes trade marketing systems to evaluate sales plans.
Manages the S&OP Process, managing the process, tools and projects.
Responsible for the evaluation and implementation of marketing trade communication.
New Item launches, new Item tracking) KPI's), limited offerings and PL programs.
Responsible for field sell-in KPI attainment and integration with Marketing and Supply organizations to ensure successful launch and achievement of distribution goals for new items.
Contributes to the demand alignment process utilizing field-based knowledge & syndicated data.
This potion interfaces with Sales and Inventory to influence forecasting monthly.
Works with sales team to complete promotional objectives with marketing.
(POS, Coupon Development, etc.
) Develops, maintains consumption data vendor contract, sales studies and monthly reporting to stakeholders.
Evaluates trade event spending and provides insight on efficiency and effectiveness of promotional strategy.
Implements annual sales planning process with field sales personnel.
Develop quarterly ROI analysis and recommendations to increase trade spending efficiencies.
Qualifications:
A minimum of5 years of experience working in Marketing or Sales administration capacity preferred Education:
MBA preferred.
Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Sales Management, or related field Trade Marketing or Category Management experience, working knowledge of Trade Practices in Deli specifically Cheese.
Professional Skills:
Thorough understanding of the food business and in particular how the Cheese industry works.
Budget conscious and able to manage people and time.
The ability to galvanize the Sales and Marketing team to direct their efforts toward maximizing company profits, attain goals, and long term growth of the company.
Role Specific Competencies:
Proven professional experience in with exceptional references.
Strong organizational and time management skills a must.
Exquisite communication and people skills.
Solid understanding of business financials and analytical skills are required.
Must have a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft business software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
Knowledge of Nielsen Data and its application.
